Character #1: Amaliricus, Captain of the Guard

Name: Captain Amaliricus
Gender: Male
Position: Xathiador’s Captain of the Guard

Personality Summary: Brutish, bulky, and stern, Captain of the Guard Amaliricus commands his army with few words and an iron hoof. He’s usually cranky and abrupt, but serves honestly and effectively (though of course for ill reasons). As Xathiador’s personal guard, he comes at the Emporer’s beckoned call, and silently responds to his orders. When he’s off duty, he normally sulks around and keeps to himself. Dirty looks are not at all uncommon to receive from him, even if they appear to be for no reason, as he has very particular opinions and a constantly running inner dialogue. Rarely does he ever speak, and when he does, it’s gruff, deep, and commanding.

^Xathiador had sent for him, and he had answered.

The Captain of the Guard's heavy hooves sounded like thunder, echoing off the marble
floors and columns of the Imperial Palace. And he walking briskly, at that. His
deep-set, melon-colored eyes stared ahead blankly as he continued through
the establishment of his Lord and Master, Xathiador.

"Ah, Amaliricius, I knew you would come," the King called as soon as he
was ushered into the throne room. The Captain of the Guard brutishly dipped
his head in homage and cautiously approached the throne.
"My Lord," he responded in his gruff, almost-uncivilized voice. "You sent for me?"

"Yes, Captain," the King responded, seeming to take a change in
attitude. "I have a request to ask of you." When Amaliricius tilted his
head to the side, and his eyes took on a questioning demeanor, Xathiador drew in a breath, and continued.

"Are you familiar of the Chntonian Colony? Good. And where it is? Mighty
fine. I would like you to escort the next two hundred prisoners to the Colony as new recruits. Whoever is overseeing the
Colony will whip them into shape - and if nobody is there, you will break them in. As soon as they arrive - and if an
overseer is residing - you will return at once. If there is nobody there, you will stay for seven nights. A small
reward will await you upon your return. Is that understood?"

"Yes, milord," Amaliricius replied, and he dipped his head again. A sly
smile crept across Xathiador's sinister lips. "Excellent, Captain. Dismissed."
